The translation process

A translator is a person who transfers the meaning from a source language into a target language, producing a text in accordance with the rules of the target language’s linguistic system and in accordance with the instructions received in the project assignment. Throughout the translation process, the translator pays constant attention to the following items: terminology, grammar, style, lexis, local characteristics, form, target group and translation purpose (Item 2. 19 of EN 15038).
Checking is a process in which a translator checks his own work upon the completion of the initial translation. This is done to ensure that the source meaning has been conveyed, that there are no errors or key words (parts of text) omitted, and that the defined service specifications have been met, with the translator making any necessary corrections (Item 5. 4. 2 of EN 15038).
Our team is composed of a group of competent translators who each have at least five years’ experience in translating. The team includes interpreters, as well as members of translation companies. A number of translators specialise in specific translation areas, and they continually to widen their knowledge in those areas.
